"Of course the Democrats don't want us to drill here. That's because they want us to continue giving our money to the Middle East so that in the next 20 years, or sooner, they will "own" us. I drive 80 miles round trip to work. I have to work the first two hours just for gas daily. Let's drill in Anwar. What else is there????"

"Surely we have the brains to fix the problem, if we can go to the moon why can't we drill for oil & process it? Whats wrong with the do nothing congress? Are they retired on the job? If you're not the solution to the problem you're the cause!"

"While I lose thousands every day I see Democrat Legislators like Rep. Linda Sanchez honoring a WNBA player for dunking a basketball and Senator Sarbanes recognizing James Madison University's 100 year anniversary. Republicans try in vain to introduce laws that will increase oil production, but the Dems simply mock them. We are in big trouble. It is sad to see how the ignorant masses blame President Bush for everything wrong, and fail to understand the effects of 30 years of Liberal Environmentalism. We need to open drilling before the July 4th legislative break!"

"I live in the Dallas-Forth Worth Area and everyone I know commutes to work at least 30 to 60 minutes one way. I was complaining about the gas prices when it went up to $2.00/gal, and now it is just ridiculous! If it was not so dangerous to drive a scooter or motorcycle, I would already be driving one. As for alternative fuel source, what is the use if one has to spend 10 to 20 thousand more on an alternative fuel vehical than the one that uses gasoline? The problem here is the greed of money. "Let's keep our pockets filled with money despite how we are continully trading BILLIONS and BILLIONS of US dollars to the Arabic nations who then use the same dollars to purchase deadly weapons to kill Americans". Liberal ideas always look good on paper and in theory, but they never consider the human factor in the equation. There are countries drilling off the coast of Florida and the US is not one of them. Instead we go half the globe away to support our the Arabic nations. I am just an insignificant individual so I can not claim to understand the ramification of drilling off the coast of Florida, but if foreign nations are going there to drilling in our back yard, and we are not, it just does not make sense!"

"Just wondering how many Senators and Conngressmen actually use their own money to travel by car or plane to their place of employment, I bet we are paying for it. For the plane tickets and fuel and the cars they drive or ride around in with a driver to drop them off here and there! And then wait on them. I love nature and wildlife just a Midwestern Boy, its not like drilling in the Grand Canyon. What pecentage of 300 million American's will acutually visit the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge? Very few. If I could afford a vacation that will not be the place I would go. As far as the Caribou Myself and Family are higher up on the food chain. Put a fence around most of the Federal Buildings and let them roam their. Not much work going on there. Use the land for something!"

"I stopped for gas today (after work, something some us have to do)it cost me $70 to fill my tank and I drive a stupid Chevy impala, not the suped up one either. My son has to stay at his grandmothers during the week because she is closer to where he works and he cannot afford the gas to get there. I think unemployment is up this month because of gas prices, when you live paycheck to paycheck and scrimp each week for gas money how can they possibly be making it now. I never thought I would see the day that gas would be$4.25 a gallon. I really don't understand how gas can be this high, we have so much oil it is ridiculous but these idiots who want to save the planet, no one can save the planet, no matter what they think the planet has been here for millions of years and it will be here long after they are gone. We live in a world of morons, moron's who apparently can afford $4.00+ a gal for gas, maybe they'll lose their fortunes and gas prices will be a worry for them also. When is everybody going to wake up and get with the program, we cannot afford these gas prices, low income families are now going on unemployment because they cannot afford to get back and forth to work and they cannot afford to live in the city. Let's do something now!"

"Democrats say drilling offshore and in ANWR won't bring down gas prices until (pick a date, it doesn't matter, they don't want us to be energy independent no matter what we do)... but what about the JOBS and bump to the economy that'll come from tapping our own resources? I guess they're against those too huh? Sickening. The patient is dying... we have our OWN medicine right here at home... only a fool would sit on their butt and not go grab it!"

"I run a dealership FULL of trucks that are not selling w/$4.00 a gallon gas. My vote will go to the first person to offer to come hook up the drill. We are not really selling them or using them right now so we could put them to good use. If not today how about the future? My children and grandchildren need us to solve the problem now, for the future."

"If Congress doesn't wake up and start making decisions that positively help and reinforce the greatness of this country then we as a people will vote them out whether they be democrat or republican. Our country is great and we will not let it be tarnished while a bunch of beaurocrats and free-loaders sit around and lose sight of why they were elected (by the people for the people). Government is not the solution, government is the problem. We need to reign in the power that the federal government has taken and get back to the basics. That which the founders meant for this country which was supplying basic infrastucture services and national defense. Our government is out of control and this is proof when we are the only nation with such resources that won't even explore them. How can anyone logically defend this notion?"

"My husband and I both drive SUV's; not luxury brands or anything chevy makes and the last couple of months between gas and food and its effect on everything else we are unable to fully pay our credit card every month of which gas, groceries, household items and such are charged. We make a good living and I'm sure democrats would count me as rich so how am I suppose to pay more taxes and higher prices on items when companies are not raising salaries? It is becoming extremely difficult to palate the gas prices when I feel that the vast majority of the government doesn't care. Democrats promised to lower gas prices when they were running for election in 2006 and all we have seen is a sharp and continual increase in prices. I just hope that we can solve our energy crisis before it affects things such as national security and the basic infrastructure of our once great country that is mimicking European socialism in action and attitude more and more every day. Wake up America and sign the petition and then start questioning the actions taken by your congressman and senators. This is a country by the people and for THE PEOPLE!!!"

"It's not just the pump folks, it's every item we consume that is affected by oil. Oil is the economy of this nation and indeed the world. When Clinton was elected the catchphrase was "It's the economy stupid". Has that ever been more true than right now? In this election year we can truly make a difference."

"I can not believe China & Cuba are actively exploring oil fields 50 miles from Key West, Florida!!! U.S. companies are barred from this area because of policy - so instead of the most environmentally responsible companies being allowed to operate there, China, who has a horrible environmental record, is preparing to take advantage of the lucrative oil reserves that are in our own backyard. All because of our friends the Democrats, who just want to raise taxes and sue the oil companies.... Unbelievable!"

"The politicians of this country have turned their backs on the American people. High gas and heating oil prices, as well as diesel fuel are killing our families. Congress has declared war on the middle and poor class. China drills off our coast but the U.S. can't? This is modern day tyranny! All we get from politicians is hot air, pie in the sky, save the polar bears but not or families, ideas that don't add up to anything."

"The Leftist would have you and I believe that Iraq is all about Oil yet these are the same fools that will not let us drill our own oil. Therefore the left (democrats and some republicans) are the real reason we are in Iraq; if oil is the issue take away the oil issue by Drilling HERE NOW!!!"
Donald R.
Bath, ME

"Congress please help us it's getting harder and harder by the day. Please drill here so we won't be dependent on any other nation. Militarily we are the top, why shouldn't our dollar be? It all comes down to energy independence. Please allow drilling here"
